Allergy Registered Nurse

Our ENT practice offers Imaging, Allergy, Audiology and Sleep-related services on the premise. It's a fast paced environment but clearly desires to always do what's best for the patient. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our allergy team and help us deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. As a registered nurse in our allergy department, you will deliver allergy services including testing, vial preparation and administering immunotherapy injections to patients under direction of our attending physician along with an array of other clinical duties.
Responsibilities
- Performs allergy tests as directed by and under direct supervision of the Attending Physician
- Prepares antigen vials as indicated by patient's treatment plan under the direct supervision of the Attending Provider
- Administers allergy injections as directed by treatment plan under direct supervision of the Attending Provider
- Maintains vials for patients and/or sends out vials as required
- Performs patient education duties related to the allergy treatment program
- Maintains patient allergy treatment records and files in Modmed and binder
- Completes patient's encounter at the conclusion of each service performed in Modmed including charges.
- Monitors patient status post-injection or post-drops
- Maintains cleanliness and stock of the allergy department including ordering necessary supplies
- Ensures that pertinent test results are reviewed by Providers
- Schedules follow up visits with Providers for all patients on an allergy maintenance plan according to department protocol
- Returns patient phone calls regarding their allergy testing and/or therapy
- Maintains current knowledge of coding, insurance charges, and patient fees for Allergy Department services
- Maintains a working relationship with antigen suppliers and pharmacies, as well as sales representatives servicing our department.
- Complies with USP 797 guidelines and requirements; remaining up to date with all rules and regulations
Valid IL State RN License
BLS/CPR Certification
Allergy experience preferred
