Nursing Role This position plays a critical role in the healthcare delivery process. Job Description: The nurse must be competent and practice independently, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Responsibilities include providing routine and complex care, with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. The nurse continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Key Responsibilities: Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Apply the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresse complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families. Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side-effects and effectiveness of treatment prescribed. Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Evaluate learning needs and provide education to patients, family members and/or caregivers. Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. RN License in state of employment or compact. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for experienced RNs, obtainable within 90 days for new graduates. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required for experienced RNs, obtainable within 90 days for new graduates. Crisis intervention training required within 12 months.
