As a Registered Nurse , you will practice independently and demonstrate an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. You will provide routine and complex care, in accordance with patient treatment plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.
You will make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.
The competent nurse practices in a critical care setting and demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. You will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced environment and is able to think critically and make sound judgments.
Utilizes critical thinking skills to assess physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and development needs of patients and families.
Communicates findings to appropriate healthcare team members.
Develops and uses a specific plan of care and modifies it to meet individual patient needs using evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities include:
Administering medications and treatments; monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness of treatment prescribed.
Documenting patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
Assessing learning needs and providing education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.
Required Skills and Qualifications Education/Skills:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of combined experience required in both Critical Care setting and one other specialty (e.g. Medsurg, Telemetry, IMC or Emergency).
5 years of experience preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
BLS required.
ACLS required.
RN License in the state of employment or compact required.
