As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures within cardiac and vascular laboratory environments. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all duties are performed in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the organization's mission and philosophy goals. Key Responsibilities: Radiation Safety and Compliance : Monitor radiation safety protocols and complete administrative tasks to ensure proper documentation and compliance. Equipment Maintenance : Perform quality assurance functions of x-ray equipment and protective garments/accessories, troubleshoot equipment problems, and initiate vendor service calls. Clinical Support : Assist hospital radiation safety officer in survey and compliance documentation for cardiovascular laboratories. Procedural Assistance : Serve as a scrub assistant or monitor/recorder for cardiology and radiology studies. Patient Preparation : Prepare and position patients for invasive procedures. Test Administration : Assist with cardiovascular tests and record patient hemodynamic activity using specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices, and laboratory instruments. Hemostasis : Obtain hemostasis at arterial and venous access sites post-procedure, including removal of sheaths and safe management of hemostatic devices. Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps : Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps when required. Cardiac Arrhythmias : Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms and alert credentialed providers and other team members during procedures according to protocol. Medication Administration : Administer intra-coronary and/or intra-arterial medications under direct supervision of the physician. Sterile Fields : Prepare and maintain sterile fields using aseptic technique for testing. Hemodynamic Equipment : Prepare, maintain, and operate hemodynamic and monitoring equipment. Life Support : Perform basic and advanced life support when required, including defibrillation. Point-of-Care Tests : Maintain proficiencies to perform point-of-care tests on lab equipment such as activated clotting time (ACT), oxygen saturations, glucose testing, and arterial blood gases (ABG). Patient Education : Perform patient teaching of procedures. Required Skills and Qualifications: A minimum of twelve (12) continuous months of cardiac cath lab, EP, and/or special procedures work experience within the last three (3) years. Successful completion of an accredited program in radiologic technology (ARRT). Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) OR Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon).
