Job Overview "> A skilled Dialysis Nurse plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. This position is responsible for developing and implementing individualized plans of care, providing direct and indirect care to patients undergoing dialysis, including pre- and post-assessments, and administering medications during treatment. "> Responsibilities: "> "> Ensures hand hygiene, proper use of PPE, and facility hygiene, adhering to hospital and departmental policies. "> Operates dialysis equipment and supplies safely and effectively, following hospital and departmental guidelines to achieve optimal patient outcomes. "> Follows established protocols for water treatment procedures and testing, accurately documenting electrolyte additions per physician orders. "> Conducts thorough pre- and post-dialysis nursing assessments, including vital signs, review of current labs, and care of the dialysis access. "> Collects pre- and post-dialysis lab specimens as ordered by physicians, adhering to hospital/departmental policies. "> Initiates, monitors, and terminates each dialysis treatment according to departmental policy and procedure. "> Responds promptly to dialysis-related complications, emergencies, and technical issues, adhering to hospital and departmental policies. "> Administers medications during dialysis, following hospital and departmental guidelines. "> Participates in the development and implementation of comprehensive plans of care for each patient.
