Gastroenterology Locums Physician - North Carolina

Join a hospital-employed GI team in North Carolina, near Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), for a high-acuity assignment with block scheduling and full procedural support.

Highlights:

• 1-2 weeks per month - you pick the blocks
• Full procedural autonomy with RN/MA support
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient coverage

Practice Setting:

• 86-bed community hospital with GI suite access
• Work alongside a dedicated GI team - no APP supervision
• Hospital-employed RN and MA staff on site
• Assigned and unassigned patient rounds

Schedule:

• Scheduled clinical hours plus 24-hour beeper call
• 30-minute call response time
• ~3 admissions, 3+ phone consults per shift
• Block scheduling available for flexibility

Cases and Procedures:

• Bread-and-butter GI with advanced procedures
• Required: ERCP, EUS, PEG, liver biopsy
• Full upper/lower endoscopy, variceal injection, polyp excision
• High procedural volume in well-equipped facility

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active North Carolina license
• BLS required
