SUMMARY: The Clinician provides outpatient clinical services to various populations according to the program requirements and the clinician’s expertise. As part of a multi-disciplinary team the clinician may provide individual, couple, family and group psychotherapy as well as case consultation, clinical coordination, clinical supervision and other special projects, as assigned by the program director. Completes all clinical documentation on-line using AVATAR Electronic Health Record System. MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS: Possesses a comprehensive and in-depth theoretical understanding of psychotherapy and related fields. Demonstrates expertise and knowledge regarding stated specialty skill areas. Furthers job knowledge and skills through additional training. Is knowledgeable of the agency’s mission, policies, structures, and programs. Contributes to the agency’s mission and performs additional functions and assignments. Collaborates with other treatment providers both within and outside the program and maintains positive relationships with other staff. Develops treatment goals that are personally meaningful to the client, relevant to the diagnosis and are behavioral, and measurable. Justifies diagnosis through history, symptom descriptions, and treatment plans. Demonstrates the capacity to maintain a helping relationship and uses the therapy relationship to enhance client change. Implements specific interventions based on a sound theoretical framework for assisting clients to achieve their objectives and goals. Utilizes multiple modalities based upon the specific treatment needs of the client (individual, family, group) and refers for adjunctive treatment when necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of community resources and refers when appropriate. Maintains in a timely manner all client records as required by program, agency, and licensing standards. EDUCATION: Master's or Doctorate in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioral/Mental Health Counseling required. State licensure (in MA) at the independent level is required: LICSW/LISW/LMFT/LMHC (need to be licensed for 3yrs for LMHC). EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years professional training and experience providing behavioral/mental health clinical services to program population. Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team. Experience utilizing Electronic Health Record preferred. Computer proficiency.
