PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
You will be responsible for administering the radioactive materials shipping and receiving program to ensure compliance with state, federal, and company regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
You will oversee the shipping and receiving of radioactive materials including associated inspections and authorizations for shipment. You must complete all required paperwork associated with the receipt/shipment of radioactive materials, including proper maintenance and retention of records.
You will perform curie content calculations, classification of radwaste shipments, and 10CFR61 analysis. You must ensure that the appropriate computer programs for radioactive material shipments are maintained.
You will stay up-to-date on industry changes regarding radioactive shipping regulations and guidelines and incorporate changes into existing procedures.
You may receive additional assignments from the Technical Support Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
You must have a BS degree in health physics or a related science degree with at least 3 years of experience in radiation protection or an Associate Degree in health physics or a related science degree and 5 years of experience in radiation protection (two years at the exempt-level in radiation protection) or a High School Diploma and 7 years of experience in radiation protection (three years exempt-level experience in radiation protection).
You must also have demonstrated written and oral communicative skills.
