We are a Connecticut law firm with an administrative office in Manchester, Connecticut, seeking to hire attorneys for remote habeas corpus trial attorney positions.

About the Work: Habeas Corpus Trial Practice

This position gives attorneys the immediate opportunity to serve as lead trial counsel for a full caseload of post-conviction cases for indigent inmates.

Habeas corpus cases are civil proceedings, but the underlying issues involve criminal law and criminal procedure. The practice offers an extraordinary opportunity to build real trial experience quickly laying a foundation for handling any type of litigation or advanced legal work.

We provide extensive training and mentorship to help our attorneys develop the skills necessary to provide exceptional representation to clients.


Lead Counsel Training and Mentorship

Attorneys in this position are trained and mentored by Supervising Attorney Jade Saginor.

Attorney Saginor has handled numerous trials and contested evidentiary hearings as lead counsel over the past nine years. She uses the firms case management and trial preparation systems, developed and refined by Managing Attorney Damon Kirschbaum and others at the firm over the course of more than 26 years.

Through direct training, hands-on experience, and structured mentorship, attorneys in this role will develop courtroom advocacy skills, case strategy expertise, and client communication techniques essential for a lifetime of litigation practice.


Remote Position

This is, and always will be, a fully remote position.

The firm has supported remote attorneys for more than seven years. Attorneys are never required to work in an office but may use our conference room in Manchester as needed.


Location Requirement

Although the position is remote, applicants must live in or near Connecticut. You must be available to visit incarcerated clients regularly and appear in court in Connecticut as needed.


Compensation

Salary range: $113,000 - $146,900 per year

Kirschbaum Law Group, LLC is a Connecticut law firm with an office in Manchester.

The firm has two divisions: the private client practice and the assigned counsel practice. Attorneys in the private client practice work in the areas of Medicaid planning, conservatorships, estate administration, probate litigation, and other areas of elder law and probate law. Attorneys in the assigned counsel practice work in the areas of criminal defense and habeas corpus.

The firm is owned and managed by Damon Kirschbaum, the managing attorney, with the help of Amy Kirschbaum, the director of finance and administration, Anna-Liisa Nixon, the supervising attorney for the private client practice, and Jade Saginor, the supervising attorney for the assigned counsel practice.
