In short, We Enable Possibility.Summary:The entry level position of Risk Management Safety Specialist is an essential job within the Risk Management Department, responsible for providing clients and agents with key information designed to make their operations safer and more efficient by using and promoting all of the Risk Management Services, as well as keeping Underwriting informed with the most up-to-date information regarding the clients.
This position is primarily in-office, with occasional travel to clients as needed.Essential Functions:1. Coordinate and manage all aspects of on-site Risk Management Surveys for their designated Program or State Territory across the United States, which requires:a. Review and analysis of accounts prior to assigning to a Field Representative or Third Party Vendorb. Communication with Underwriting Departmentc. Communication with Agentsd. Communication with Insuredse. Selecting appropriate Field Representative or Third Party Vendor and assigning surveysf. Assisting Field Representative or Third Party Vendors with issues completing assigned surveysg. Monitoring due dates of assigned surveysh. Reviewing completed surveysi. Analyzing survey information to generate detailed Recommendation Reportsj. Conducting follow ups to recommendations2. Conduct risk management studies and surveys as required.3. Promote and provide additional risk management services as appropriate.4. Assist with information analysis and the development of new risk management resources and/or services as needed under the direction of the department Supervisors or Director of Risk Management.5. Monitor Claims for frequency and severity concerns and provide solutions to reduce the hazards.6. Facilitate E Learning activities and growth with Insureds, Agents, and McNeil Associates.7. Build and maintain positive working relationships with other McNeil & Co. Associates, Agents, Insureds, Field Representatives, Consultants, etc.8. Meet with Agents and Insureds as required.9. Help coordinate special events or attend trade shows.Additional Responsibilities:Provide assistance to the Director of Risk Management as needed. Report to and communicate daily with the Risk Management Supervisor. Conduct E-Learning coordination, development, accreditation and delivery as needed. Complete Special projects as assigned Present a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times Perform other duties as required or directed.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience preferred2. AINS designation or equivalent preferred3. One to three years of risk management/insurance experience preferred4. Excellent knowledge of computers in a window-based environment required. 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.6. Strong analytical skills and the ability to pay attention to details, good time-management skills, and organizational skills are necessary.7. Ability to work independently and in a team environment to manage priorities of work, maintaining required production levels and ability to comply with accepted practices and guidelines.8. Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, and ability to sit for extended periods of time.9. This position may require up to approximately 15% overnight travel.For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.$45,000 - $55,000/yearTotal individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
