The League Education and Treatment Center in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a mental health specialist with experience and a passion for working with children in a therapeutic preschool/day treatment program to work as "Treatment Coordinator". Joan Fenichel Therapeutic Nursery (JFTN) serves children 3-5 years of age who have emotional/behavioral difficulties as well as developmental disabilities. A demonstrated interest in working with children who present with autism spectrum/developmental disabilities is necessary. Experience with a trauma-informed approach to classroom management and behavior modification is also necessary to consult with and support teaching staff. Responsibilities : Providing individual and group therapy as well as providing social skills training, family therapy, case management, and parent training. Developing treatment plans as well as conducting psychosocial evaluations and writing updates Working with our behavior support team which performs functional analyses Developing behavior intervention plans, consulting with classroom staff and assisting with physical management of the children Experience with behavior modification and applied behavior analysis Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrist, psychologists, social workers, creative arts therapists, speech/language pathologists, occupational/physical therapists and teachers. Physical intervention such as playing, holding, and lifting children. Licensed professionals will have an opportunity to supervise externs and interns. QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or any related behavioral health or human service fields. License preferred (LCSW, LMSW) or Limited Permit Eligible.
