Description: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience. Patient care involves working with a diverse patient population, from young adults to geriatric patients. Priority admissions include those requiring medical surgical level monitoring, interventions, and care. Major patient types include both medical and surgical patients, along with neurology or neurosurgical diagnoses. The unit consists of private rooms equipped for telemetry and oximetry monitoring. Required skills include interpretation of dysrhythmias, remote telemetry monitoring, and management of various patient care procedures. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary support services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The nurse will also be responsible for administering medications, managing central and peripheral lines, and following infection control protocols. Candidates should be familiar with wound care and be able to use rapid response and code teams effectively. Flexibility to float to different areas as needed is essential.
