We are a large and growing emergency and specialty hospital located in beautifulPortland, Maine. Our facility is home to board-certified experts inSurgery, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Dermatology.

What You'll Do
As aSurgical Veterinary Technician, you'll work closely withfive board-certified surgeons, surgical residents, and interns. This role involves managing all aspects of surgical nursing—from patient intake and diagnostics to anesthesia, surgical assistance, and post-op recovery.
In this role, you will:
Assist withanesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
Support soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and neurosurgeries
Prepare surgical patients and maintain sterile technique in the OR
Performpost-operative care, treatments, and documentation
Collaborate with DVMs, residents, and the surgical support team to provide top-tier care
Communicate compassionately with clients and ensure patients are treated with kindness, dignity, and professionalism
Help with department flow, scheduling, and maintaining equipment and surgical supplies
Anticipated Schedule
This is afull-time position
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday:9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Someholidays are required
Compensation
Startingat $25/hr, commensurate with experience and licensure
up to$2,5000sign on bonus, commensurate with experience and licensure

Requirements Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)orVeterinary Technician Specialist (VTS)preferred
Strong experience inanesthesiaandsurgical procedures
Veterinary Assistants withextensive surgical experiencemay be considered
