Occupational Therapist Job Description The role of an Occupational Therapist involves working with patients in their homes to help them achieve their goals and regain independence. This position requires a comprehensive initial evaluation of all patients assigned requiring occupational therapy, as well as the implementation of interventions to promote functional ability and quality of life. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized plans of care that meet the unique needs of each patient. Key Responsibilities: Conduct home safety evaluations to identify potential hazards and make recommendations for modifications to improve patient safety. Assess patients' current levels of functioning and develop goals based on their potential for improvement. Implement occupational therapy assessments and care plans, continuously evaluating patients' responses to programs and making necessary modifications. Report pertinent observations to attending physicians and make changes to patient care plans as directed. Required Skills and Qualifications: Graduate of an occupational therapy school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the A.M.A. in collaboration with the American Occupational Therapy Association or its equivalent. Registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association. 1 year of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist in an acute or Rehab setting. Occupational Therapist - Registered within the state of FL BCLS. Active American Heart Association BLS. Valid in-state Driver's License with current car insurance.
