Job Title: Certified Operating Room Assistant About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our medical team on a day shift, full-time basis in Amarillo, TX. As a CST, you will be accountable for assisting the RN and surgeon in preparing for surgical procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and prepare for the next case. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly. Assist the RN and surgeon during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field and adhering to infection control protocols. Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting the skin, applying dressings, and performing other preoperative tasks. Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history, medications, and test results. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during surgical procedures. Required Qualifications: Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist or related field About Our Hospital: Our hospital serves the Amarillo area with quality healthcare services for over 120 years.
