As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for promoting dental health through various procedures, including dental prophylaxis, oral cancer screening, and radiographic studies. Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities: Promoting Dental Health You will promote dental health by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins, detecting disease through oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession, and exposing and developing radiographic studies. You will also arrest dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents. Preparing Patients You will prepare patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping patients. This includes selecting materials and equipment based on the patient's oral health needs. Providing Information You will provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests. This may include explaining treatments, providing educational resources, and offering guidance on oral health best practices. Maintaining Instrumentation You will maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments as needed. This ensures that all equipment is in good working condition and meets safety standards.
