Nursing Professional - Job Summary The role of a Registered Nurse involves providing high-quality patient care, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation and taking appropriate action. They must be able to achieve long-range goals or plans through effective planning, intervention and evaluation. Responsibilities: To meet expectations of applicable competencies, including leadership and collaboration skills. Deliver nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients. Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitor side-effects and effectiveness of treatment prescribed. Document patient history, symptoms, medication and care given. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources. Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty is preferred. BLS certification is required. RN License in the state of employment or compact license is required.
