Job Summary The role of a nurse is to deliver high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, and evaluate patient needs. This position requires a competent and compassionate individual who can work independently and as part of a team to provide routine and complex care to patients in a variety of settings. Meet the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment. Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Education Requirements A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. Onboarding Process Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of designated organizational entry competency validation and a Critical Care Department-specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
