Make a Difference on Your Own Schedule and Terms!Hiring Home Health Aide/Certified Nurse Assistants in OhioProvides personal care services under the direction of the RN/Case Manager. Assigned to specific clients and performs services for clients as necessary to maintain their personal comfort.QualificationsAt least eighteen (18) years of ageSuccessful completion of a formal aide certification training program consistent with state and federal requirements and for which a certificate was obtained. Notable state specific requirements:Colorado: certified within four months of starting employment and certificate remains current Tennessee: completed a total of seventy-five (75) hours of training which includes sixteen (16) hours of clinical training prior to or during the first three (3) months of employmentGeorgia: requires a certificate from approved nurse aide training program and registry with the Georgia DHR Nurse Aid Registry Successful demonstration of competency in the provision of care and services safely and effectivelyMinimum of six (6) months’ work experience in a supervised setting, preferably a health care facility or home health agency; prefer one year experienceCPR certificationDemonstrated ability to read and write consistent with job requirementsVerbal, written and interpersonal skills necessary for establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with the client/family and personnel of the PCMLicensed driver with good driving record and automobile in good repair and insured in accordance with state and/or PCM requirements or other reliable means of transportationEssential Functions/Areas Of AccountabilityPerform only those services permitted under state law and for which deemed competent to perform which are assigned by and performed under the supervision of an RN who is responsible for the client care provided by the aide Exhibit competency in and perform personal care activities, including but not limited to:Reading and recording temperature, pulse, and respirationBasic infection control proceduresMaintenance of a clean, safe, and healthy environmentSafe transfer techniques and ambulationBathing (bed/sponge, tub and shower)Shampoo (sink, tub and bed)Skin /nail careOral hygieneShavingDressingToileting and eliminationNormal range of motion and positioningPerform household services essential to maintain a safe and healthy environment for health care at home, including but not limited to:Meal preparation/feeding including adequate nutrition and fluid intakeLaundryLight housekeepingFollow written assignment and instructions provided by the RN at all times. Complete and submit appropriate records to document care given and pertinent observations per policy.At no time should a HHA/CNA administer medications. They may assist with the medication reminders only; all medication must be given by RN/LPN provider. Report any observed or reported changes in the client's condition and/or needs to the case manager or other appropriate supervisor.Promote personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection prevention and control practices, following PCM guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the RN or case manager.Demonstrate safe practice in the use of equipment and cleaning; do not use nor clean equipment until orientation about its operation has been provided by your supervisor.Recognize emergencies and demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures.
