Responsibilities: Conduct thorough interviews with patients to obtain and verify their medical history, assessing potential risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, and psychological indicators. Clearly explain procedures to patients, including the effects of administered pharmaceuticals, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions. Ensure all necessary equipment is set up and images are acquired according to established protocols. Review acquired images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies. Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients. Participate in quality improvement activities within the radiology department, focusing on aspects such as patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction. Deliver education on imaging techniques to residents, student technologists, and new employees. Be prepared to take call/standby shifts as required by the department.
