The Opportunity

Rhino Medical is leading the charge in Northeast Texas seeking experienced Emergency Medicine Physicians for an impactful locum tenens assignment in Bonham. This role provides an opportunity to deliver critical care in a rural hospital setting with flexible scheduling and robust support.

Ideal for physicians comfortable managing a diverse caseload and providing solo coverage in a tight-knit community environment.

Facility Snapshot

• ED Beds: 7 (with 3 Fast Track beds)

• Annual ED Volume: 10,937 visits (~850-900/month)

• Average Daily Census: 30 patients/day

• Patient Flow:

  • Day Shift (7:30 AM - 7:30 PM): ~20 patients

  • Night Shift (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM): ~10-15 patients

• Trauma Level: IV

• Admitting Rate: 5-6% (adults 18+)

• Transfer Rate: 6-7%

• Radiology Support: Reads via Concord

• CT/Ultrasound: Available Mon-Fri, 9 AM-5 PM

• Bedside Ultrasound: Sonosite for central lines

• Codes: Respond to floor codes

Schedule Coverage

• 12-Hour Shifts: 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM | 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM

• 24-Hour Shifts Available

• EMR: CPSI Thrive (Transitioning to Cerner in 2025)

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified/Eligible in EM, FM, or IM
• Active Texas Medical License DEA
• ACLS, ATLS, PALS (Preferred for Non-EM Boarded)
• Comfortable with basic holding orders and solo coverage
