Job Title: Physician Gastroenterologist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Fort Myers, FL Service Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: 04/28/2025 Ongoing On-Call Shift Schedule: Varies by location; may be nightly or every other night; Flexible, 24-hour inpatient coverage (7a 7a) Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: Approx. 1 week per month Call Response Time: 30 minutes PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: 1020 patients per day Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: General Gastroenterology with advanced procedures (ERCP, EUS) FACILITY INFORMATION Office Equipment Available: Fully staffed endoscopy unit Specialty Backup Available: Advanced Practitioners, hospital-based support Support Staff Available: APPs, Endoscopy staff Reason for Coverage: Supplemental PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 30 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Colonoscopy Endoscopy ERCP EUS (must demonstrate experience: at least 24 procedures in past 36 months) JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Florida medical license Certifications: Board Certified in Gastroenterology Experience: Inpatient or consultative services for at least 50 patients in the past 12 months Other Qualifications: Clean background and NPDB; meets all procedure log requirements; no telehealth DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide inpatient gastroenterology services including consults, follow-ups, and procedures Perform endoscopic procedures as required across designated facilities Collaborate with Advanced Practitioners and hospital-based support teams Maintain flexibility to work across four facilities; no mid-day travel required
