About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmologist for a 57-day locum tenens assignment at a Hospital in Florida, starting 07/13/2025. This position requires 24-hour call coverage from 7 AM to 7 AM, with potential outpatient follow-ups post-surgery as needed. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with medical ophthalmology and trauma cases, including ruptured globes and eyelid lacerations. While the role does not involve elective surgery, trauma-based procedures may be necessary. Retina-related cases can be referred to a local specialist. Proficiency with Epic EMR and Dragon voice recognition software is required.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide 24-hour on-call ophthalmology coverage
• Manage medical ophthalmology cases and trauma-related eye injuries
• Perform emergency procedures such as treating ruptured globes and eyelid lacerations
• Conduct post-operative follow-ups as needed
• Evaluate and treat various eye conditions and disorders
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care
• Refer complex retina cases to local specialists when necessary
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Epic EMR
• Utilize Dragon voice recognition software for efficient documentation
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice in Florida
• Experience with trauma-based ophthalmology is required
