Radiology Technologist Job Description As a Radiology Technologist, you play a vital role in preparing patients for radiographic procedures and operating imaging equipment. Your duties will include: Patient Preparation: Ensure patients are properly prepared for radiographic procedures, taking into account their age and developmental stage. Equipment Operation: Operate various imaging equipment suitable for different age groups. Clerical Duties: Perform administrative tasks and maintain accurate records. You will work closely with Radiologists during X-ray procedures, considering the patient's age and developmental stage. Additionally, you will be responsible for: Patient Transportation: Transport patients when requested. Maintenance of Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments. Team Leadership: Oversee Student Radiologic Technologists in the same work area. Requirements To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications: Licensure: Hold a current New Jersey license to practice Radiologic Technology. Technical Skills: Have working knowledge of X-ray and computer technology commonly used in Radiology Departments. Communication Skills: Demonstrate sensitivity and skills to interact effectively with patients, physicians, hospital staff, and students. Cognitive Abilities: Possess good reading and deductive skills to understand physician requests and solve problems. Physical Demands: Be able to think and move quickly to deliver high-quality patient care. Certification: BLS Certification is required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
