Job Summary: The Competent Nurse delivers exceptional care in a clinical setting, practicing independently and demonstrating awareness of relevant aspects. They provide routine and complex care, developing long-range goals or plans and managing contingencies. They make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to manage the clinical situation.
Key Responsibilities: Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice. Administer medications and treatments, monitor side-effects, and document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.
Requirements: Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred). Experience: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty (preferred). Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: BLS required. RN License in state of employment or compact.
