Senior Manager, Accounting– Clinical Accruals

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled accounting professional to be part of a growing finance team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of clinical trial accruals, partnering closely with Clinical Operations, Development, and external CROs. Responsibilities will also include month-end close process and reporting, reviewing payroll, account reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and audit support. This role will partner with the Controller, Swiss Accounting Manager, and cross-functional leaders to drive continuous improvement in financial operations. Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end clinical trial accrual process, including monthly and quarterly close activities• Review and analyze CRO and vendor reports (e.g., investigator grants, pass-through costs, milestone payments)• Develop and maintain accrual models for multiple clinical programs across phases• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP related to R&D accruals• Partner with Clinical Operations to understand trial status, enrollment metrics, site activations, and study timelines• Coordinate directly with CROs to validate cost-to-complete estimates and resolve discrepancies• Responsible for all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll as well as managing a small team of direct reports• Review and approve weekly payment runs• Prepare/release bi-weekly payroll and serve as a resource for related compliance matters• Help maintain consolidation for all entities and manage related matters with outsourced providers domestically as well as for foreign subsidiary based in Switzerland• Partner with the Controller in developing policies and interpretation of GAAP guidance for key accounting and reporting areas as needed• Contribute to development, implementation and documentation new accounting policies and procedures to scale within the organization.• Help establish, monitor, and enforce internal policies, procedures, and controls• Support and coordinate preparation for financial statement audits and tax compliance reporting• Assist with the annual preparation of 1099s• Assist with FP&A to develop and maintain framework for reporting and analysis
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting required, CPA preferred.Minimum of 5+ years in a combination of i public accounting and/or biotech experience in publicly traded companies.Prior experience with NetSuite, Prendio, and ADP preferredExperience working with or auditing a SOX 404b compliant environmentThorough and current knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.Experience developing internal controls and driving implementation of policies and proceduresExperience with review and preparation of financial statements; corporate, payroll and sales tax filings and requirementsExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process in a setting requiring consolidations, multiple subsidiaries, including international.Experience managing and developing staff including helping set periodic goals and delivering annual performance reviewsAdaptability and enthusiasm for new challengesAbility to work both independently and deliver on responsibilities within a highly collaborative environmentJob SummaryID: 2026-1181Category: FinancePosition Type: Regular Full-TimeMin: USD $120,000.00/Yr.Max: USD $165,000.00/Yr.
