License: Must possess a valid nursing license. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
Must-Have: Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Every other weekend required. Float to Med/Surg, Tele, and IMC required as needed.
Description: ICU Registered Nurse needed for a night shift position. The ideal candidate will carry a patient ratio of 2 patients per nurse on days, nights, and weekends. The average daily census is 16 patients within the unit. The registered nurse will have experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps, pulmonary artery line monitoring, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. Skills in EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are essential. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, renal failure, and sepsis. Interdisciplinary support is available from various services such as physical therapy and respiratory services. The registered nurse will assist with procedures like chest tube insertion and care of ventilated patients. Strong infection prevention practices must be followed. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to various clinical scenarios.
