Must-Have: Neuro and Trauma experience is essential. Experience with ventilator management, critical care drips/titration, and cardiac rhythm interpretation is required. Experience with patient monitoring, including management of drains and hemodynamic lines, is necessary.
Description: Immediate start needed. The position involves caring for multispecialty critical care patients, including medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, trauma, and interventional cases. Common diagnoses include stroke, ICP monitoring, EVD drains, spinal precautions, DKA, sepsis, multisystem trauma, COVID, STEMI, NSTEMI, and heart failure. ICU Float Pool RNs will float to various units, including stepdown units and observation patients in the emergency department as needed. Patient ratios may vary based on acuity, with ICU ratios typically at 1:2 and possible 3:1 during downgrades. In the emergency department, the ratio can be 1:4 or 1:5, depending on patient acuity. Support within the department includes charge nurses, resource nurses, house supervisors, and a respiratory therapy team available 24/7. This is a float pool position that encompasses all levels of care, including assignments in the emergency department for patients with admission orders. Professional scrub colors are required; any professional color is acceptable, and shoes must be professional without holes. Scheduling includes weekend rotations every other week, with night shifts on Friday and Saturday. Holiday needs require managerial approval for requests.
