12-hour shifts with every other weekend required; block scheduling available but not guaranteed; patient ratios 5:1 days (stretch 6-7), 6-7:1 nights (stretch 8-10) Highlights: 27-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac disease, stroke, infection, pain management, and pulmonary embolism Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy Patient Care Technicians provide vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and assistance with activities of daily living Float opportunities to Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, ICU (stable patients), and acute brain injury units (stable patients) 13-week assignment with time off requests accommodated up to one week First-time travelers welcome with 1 year of recent Med-Surg/Tele experience Requirements: Active New York RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted) BLS and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience Epic charting experience required Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and IV placement (mandatory skills for all RNs) Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, peripheral line care/management, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions Experience with telemetry monitoring, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and lifepacks Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility Willingness to float to multiple units as needed Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers an excellent opportunity to expand your clinical skills across multiple specialty areas while working on a well-supported telemetry unit.
