Job Overview The skilled nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This includes providing routine and complex care, with the ability to make long-range goals or plans. Key Responsibilities Meet expectations of applicable competencies: leadership and nursing skills. Provide patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects and effectiveness of treatment prescribed. Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred. 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty, preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. RN License in state of employment or compact.
