A family practice obstetrician would also be considered, with specific exclusions for gynecological questions. The provider will be on call only and must be reachable by phone, reporting within 30 minutes of contact. Coverage will be needed for approximately 8 to 10 days per month. Support staff will include hospital staff in labor and delivery, such as RNs. While there is a preference for one provider to fill this position, two providers may be considered if necessary. Shift times will run from 7 AM to 7 AM. The expected patient encounters per shift will be 2, with an average of 2 patients per shift. The facility has a trauma level of 4 and a pediatric level of 1. Credentialing is estimated to take 30 to 60 days. Skills required include delivering low and high-risk pregnancies, interpreting fetal heart rate, and performing routine deliveries and C-sections. Other gynecological procedures and surgeries are also required.
