Must-Have: ACLS certification is a plus

Description: Unit has 52 beds, all private rooms. The charge nurse takes a full patient assignment and has a Clinical Assistant available. There are usually 4-6 CNA's per shift. Staff ratios are typically 1:6-7, mostly 1:7 on both day and night shifts. Remote telemetry monitoring is available as needed. RNs are not required to read strips but can do so if they have experience. IV Team is in-house 24/7 to start all IVs. Patients on the unit may include post-operative orthopedic and neurological cases, as well as various medical diagnoses. Pharmacy support is available 24/7. RN's assess their patient's IV sites but do not start their own IVs on this unit. There is a required weekend commitment of every other weekend. Holidays will be worked into the rotation schedule. All shifts are scheduled for six weeks at a time. Common diagnoses include COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, and infections. Patients may in some cases be tested for COVID and may remain on the unit until results are available.
