Description: This is a fast-paced, specialty medical/surgical unit providing growth in professional knowledge and expertise in the care of cardiovascular patients. Staff will care for specialized patients including stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs). Ratios are 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, with the possibility of 1:7 ratio on rare occasions. Travelers should be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. RTO restrictions apply due to the schedule, with a blackout period for specific dates. Weekends require working four shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period, with specific days designated for weekend duties. Travelers must have two years of prior experience and be familiar with managing drips. CNA assistance, along with care teams, will support nursing duties. This is a 100% nicotine-free facility. Weekly compliance documentation is required. No RTO will be permitted during the first week of orientation. All travelers must wear specified scrubs with the organization's branding. Roles may involve floating to other units within the assigned facility.
