12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or Nights only); self-scheduling with variable weekends based on unit needs Highlights: Specialty focus on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a 24-bed unit with adult and geriatric populations Nurse-to-patient ratio goal of 1:4 (may reach 1:5) Self-scheduling model with flexibility to accommodate preferred schedules before finalization Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, and therapy services 72 hours of orientation including one week of dayshift training followed by 36 hours with a dedicated preceptor High-acuity medical unit with emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety Requirements: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, with at least 1 year of current specialty experience BLS and ACLS certifications required Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Telemetry experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/PICC/peripheral line management Experience with Epic electronic charting system required ONS Chemo Certification and NIHSS preferred but not required Oncology experience preferred but not required Must provide 2 professional references (at least one from a manager or formal leadership position) Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients during a critical phase of their treatment journey.
