12-hour rotating day/night shifts; self-scheduling with requests reviewed every 4 weeks; weekend coverage variable based on unit needs Highlights: Mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit specializing in Surgical Oncology with Med Surg and PCU patients Diverse case mix including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal surgeries, and plastic reconstruction Staffing ratio goal of 1:4, may flex to 1:5 based on patient needs EPIC charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response, and respiratory services 72 hours orientation including initial week Monday–Friday dayshift followed by on-unit preceptor training 36-bed unit with focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety Requirements: Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of PCU experience with at least 1 year of current specialty experience within the most recent 3 years Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Preferred Certification: ONS Chemotherapy EPIC charting system experience required Experience with chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, heparin drips, and chest tube care Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, and oncologic emergency response Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Two professional references required: one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; second may be from a Charge RN Willingness to float to other acute care oncology units as needed Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work on a highly specialized surgical oncology unit where you'll care for a diverse patient population undergoing complex cancer surgeries and treatments.
