The competent Nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This involves providing routine and complex care with the ability to plan long-range goals or plans, while ensuring patient needs are met in accordance with their level of practice. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: leader of self, leader of others, or leader of leaders. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Delivers increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social support to patients and families. Administers medications and treatments; monitors side-effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. An ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Prior experience in a related nursing specialty is beneficial but not required. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred, along with a current RN License in the state of employment or compact. BLS certification is mandatory. Additionally, an understanding of OneCHRISTUS Competencies is essential for success in this role.
