Job Title: Physician Job Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Duration: 12 Months Shift: 1-2; 1-2; 7a-7p; 7p-7a Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Emergency Medicine Board Eligible after successful completion of accredited Residency or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with 3 years of experience for Freestanding Emergency Departments only License: Must have a valid medical license Certifications: Proficiency in all emergency care procedures (Central Access, Arterial Line, Lumbar Puncture, Intubation, Pacing, Orthopedic stabilization, etc.) Must-Have: Competency in emergency care procedures Job Description: - Address staffing shortages by providing crucial emergency medicine services - Work in a Level 2 (ACS Level 1) Trauma Center - Handle a variable patient census based on location and shift - No call is involved in the schedule - Support with Advanced Practice Providers coverage depending on shift and time of day - Participate in training programs for residency and APP - Handle common cases such as abdominal pain and chest pain - Round on patients primarily in the Freestanding Emergency Departments with 2 patients per hour - Crew support includes an emergency medicine residency program and APP training program
