Description: Medical Surgical unit is seeking a Registered Nurse for day shifts. This position will involve caring for stroke and surgery patients. Telemetry central monitoring tech is available 24/7 but interpretation of dysrhythmias is not required. The unit welcomes first-time travelers. Floating to like units may be required based on facility needs. Weekends may be required as needed. The patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. The average daily census is 30. There are 31 rooms and 39 beds in the unit. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. The Registered Nurse will be expected to provide comprehensive care while adhering to infection control practices and safety protocols. Skills in telemetry and remote monitoring, as well as management of feeding tubes and colostomy care, will be utilized. The ability to administer blood products and manage IVs is necessary. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for working effectively in this environment.
