Intensive Care Unit Nurse The ICU Nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care and support in an environment specifically designed for patients in serious or life-threatening medical circumstances. Responsibilities: Meet the expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources. Requirements: Education/Skills Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred. Experience One year of experience in Critical Care setting preferred but will accept new graduates. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Current ACLS certification required.
