Job Title: Critical Care Specialist As a highly skilled Critical Care Specialist , you will play a vital role in the post-anesthesia care unit, ensuring the safe and effective recovery of patients after surgery. You will direct and provide professional nursing care for an assigned group of patients across the age continuum. You will utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to direct or provide nursing care. You will provide supervision and guidance to other members of the team. Requirements: Education: You must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Certifications: You must hold a current RN license or a Compact state license. BLS Certification is required within 2 weeks of hire date. ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire date. Skills: You must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with others. You must demonstrate strong English language skills for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards. Nature of Supervision: You will report directly to the Manager, Surgical Services. Work Environment: You will be exposed to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations, and hazardous or infectious agents on a daily basis. You must use your judgment to determine the necessary precautions to take. The work environment demands medium exertion, with most of your time spent walking or standing while on duty. Optimal auditory acuity is required. To succeed in this role, you must possess strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and excellent clinical judgment.
